What We're Looking For & What You Can Expect When You Join the Homegrown Speech Therapy Team
Requirements
SLP/ SLP-CF:
Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or equivalent from an accredited college or university
Licensed to practice Speech Language Pathology in Illinois
Pediatric speech therapy experience or other experience working with children in a clinical capacity
Early Intervention credential (preferred)
Experience with pediatric feeding disorders (preferred)
SLP-A:
Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
Strong understanding of speech and language development in elementary-aged children
Effective communication skills
Experience with the birth-5 population
Responsibilities
Provide individual therapy services for clients
Complete all required documentation for clients
Collaborate with a client's interdisciplinary team to discuss progress and recommendations for clients
Perform diagnostic evaluations and document, analyze, and interpret results
Provide ongoing family education and training
Attend weekly mentorship meetings

YES! You will receive the same hourly rate for your time whether you are working directly with a child or writing an evaluation report.

Absolutely! We offer paid orientation/shadowing, weekly meetings, and guaranteed, 1:1 collaboration and mentorship through your first year as an Early Intervention (EI) provider. For CF candidates, our mentorship program is unmatched. We work hard to support you throughout your CF year (and beyond!)

Yes! We love to mentor graduate students. Graduate students who are interested in a career in pediatrics and/or early intervention are encouraged to contact hello@homegrownslp.com to inquire about current or future opportunities.

Though we provide all services in-home, our team collaborates on a weekly basis during mentorship meetings. We like to have fun outside of work, too, and plan regular team outings which allows us to get to know each other outside of Google Meet!
